EVENTS & GIVING

At St. John XXIII Catholic School (SJ23), we are blessed to be able to offer many student, family, and parent enrichment programs that contribute to the ongoing social, academic, and emotional success of our students. This is possible because of our amazing network of parents and our committed local and parish communities—see our Honor Roll of Donors. Direct giving, effective fundraising and dedicated volunteers enable us to expand and improve programs that are the heart and soul of our school community.

With this in mind, we ask our alumni, current parents, grandparents, alumni families, parishioners, and community partners to help us to continue to provide exceptional education and service opportunities for students—which are so vital to the quality of education at SJ23. You can be part of this by making a gift, supporting our fundraising events or volunteering your time. Thank you for investing in the future of Catholic education in our community!

Annual Report

Our Annual Report highlights our accomplishments and activities; summarizes our financial performance over the past year; and allows us to recognize our generous donor families, individuals, and businesses. View our 2017-2018 Annual Report.

We are truly blessed at St. John XXIII Catholic School (SJ23) with the tremendous support of our parishioners, alumni, families, grandparents and friends—and their amazing faith in Catholic education.

The Key Event has always been the single largest source of fundraising revenue for St. John XXIII Catholic School. Without the tremendous commitment and dedication of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, faculty, staff, students and community supports, this event would not be possible. Your generosity leads to our school’s exceptional academics and quality faith-based education here in Port Washington.

Company Match

Many companies offer a corporate gift-matching program or community support program as a benefit for employees. Your company may match your gift to SJ23 dollar for dollar or match your gift up to a certain dollar amount. It may also make a cash donation for employee community service hours. Be sure to see if your company offers these types of programs so that you may maximize your gift and service.

Direct Giving

Gifts of cash, stock, and real estate are accepted as gifts throughout the year for tuition assistance, the annual fund, the Endowment Fund, or as a general gift. 100% of direct gifts go to offset faculty salaries/benefits, general operations costs, keep tuition reasonable, and, when designated, toward tuition assistance.

Planned Giving: Leaving a Legacy

Each generation is given the vital mission of passing on its faith and values to the next generation. By making a charitable gift to our school through your estate plan, you can help ensure that Catholic education remains strong and vibrant for generations to come. You create a personal legacy that reflects your faith, ideals, and values.

Catholic education brings with it an endless world of possibilities for graduates in our parish and the broader community. Your gift will help keep Catholic education affordable and create bright futures for so many students.

Planned giving includes:

  • Appreciated Stock
  • Bequest in a Will
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Life Insurance

Consider consulting with your professional advisor regarding a strategy to provide for your loved ones, benefit our school in meaningful ways, and continue the faithful stewardship you currently practice. We invite you to consider how these giving options can help you achieve maximum benefit for your personal and charitable goals and strengthen our Catholic community.
