5th & 6th Grade ELA | 5th Grade Homeroom & Religion
I am Mrs. Laura Gallitz and I have been teaching for nineteen years. Nine of those years were in the West Bend School District. I started my teaching career 32 years ago at a Catholic school (St. Eugene’s in Fox Point) and am so blessed to be teaching fifth & sixth grade literacy at St. John the XXIII! I enjoy spending time with my family: camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, walking my dogs, and reading. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 36 years. Our kids have all left the nest and have moved on to the next phase of their lives! I have a married son in Virgina, one in Elkhart Lake and a married daughter in West Bend. My fourth child, second daughter, just graduated from UW Madison this spring. My youngest graduated high school in 2021 and she is working at Timmer’s Restaurant on Big Cedar Lake. I attended grade school and high school in Whitehall, Michigan. I completed my undergraduate work at Central Michigan University. My major was English and my minor was reading. In December 2016, I finished my reading license through UW-Oshkosh. My full licensure includes Elementary Education, Alternative Ed, Special Education – Cross categorical and my Reading Specialist license.
