Ms. Erika Togstad

I am a born and raised (and proud!) Wisconsin girl! I love Wisconsin sports: Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and thoroughly enjoy watching and going to as many games as I can!

I am an avid reader and walker and have lately developed a love for cooking.

My family, boyfriend, Jamie, and friends mean the world to me, as do my dogs Rosie, Lucy, and angel pup Penny Lane.

I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education at UW-Milwaukee in 2009 and a Master’s Degree in Literacy at Concordia University in 2019.

I am a dedicated and committed educator whose passion is teaching “the whole child,” instilling skills that go beyond the classroom!

I am so excited to join the SJ23 team and can’t wait to create meaningful and lasting relationships with the staff, students, and their families!

Mrs. Laura Lanser

She began her college prep at Mount Mary College and transferred and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in education.

Her passion in the classroom is passing on the Catholic faith to her students.

“My heart has always belonged to Catholic education.”

Ms. Kate Sommerfeld

My name is Kate Sommerfeld, and I am so excited to join the St John’s XXIII community.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing board games, doing yoga, watching reality TV, and sipping iced lattes.

I graduated in 2020 with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Spanish minor from UW-Oshkosh: go Titans!

I previously taught 5th grade in Cedarburg for three years and was most recently part of the administrative team at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay.

As I return to the classroom, I am eager to share my affinity for math and love of books.

I hope to instill a passion for learning among my students through humor and enthusiasm!

Mrs. Jenny Zirbes

I have been so blessed to have the support of a loving and caring family. I grew up with 3 awesome older brothers who live close and who I get to see often.

My parents also live close to me and are so active in my life and the lives of my 3 children: Charlie (10), Ellie (8) and Annie (6).

My husband Peter and I love to be outside with our family. Whether it’s fishing, swimming or going for walks, we enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.

I graduated from UWM in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in History degree and then went on to earn my teaching license from Cardinal Stritch University in 2010. After spending some years in the banking industry, I made my way back into education and began teaching at St. John XXIII for the 2023-2024 school year.

Favorite Things: Reading, baking, swimming, pizza, walking/hiking, spending time with my family and friends, cookies, playing sports & watching my kid’s activities.

I’m looking forward to another year at St. John XXIII and so proud to be a part of this school community!
