This year, the SJ23 Student Council is committed to strengthening our connection with the community by actively seeking ways to serve and support those around us. Our mission is to make a difference through outreach, volunteer projects, and partnerships with local organizations and individuals who have had a positive impact on our school community, and with the people/causes that matter most to us. Through compassion, leadership, and teamwork, we hope to inspire our fellow students to join us in giving back and making our community stronger together.
Below are the first initiatives to kick off this mission:
Wisconsin Humane Society Drive: Beginning November 1st through December 12th, we will be collecting items for the Wisconsin Humane Society (Ozaukee Campus), along with monetary donations to directly support their mission. Thanks to generous supporters, they are able to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for thousands of animals every year. *Items and money can be delivered to the School Office! (Wish List: https://www.wihumane.org/donate/wish-list) We will be personally delivering the collected donations to the Humane Society aboard our Kindness Bus. This will give students the opportunity to witness firsthand the difference our school community is making and reinforce the values of service and compassion.
Root Beer Float Sale for Local Police Department: On November 14th, we will host a Root Beer Float Sale during both Elementary and Middle School lunch. Students and Staff should bring in $2 if participating. Parish Members are encouraged to bring donations to the Parish Office if they’d like to participate in this cause. The money raised will be used to provide donuts and coffee for our local Police Department as a gesture of appreciation. Following the Root Beer Float Sale, we will deliver the treats to the Police Department in person.
